Anxiety & Stress

Anxiety and stress are natural reactions to adverse events or circumstances where we feel apprehension or fear, and this can affect us both mentally and physically. Often, these are displayed in our emotions and behaviour and affect our whole being. Hypnotherapy, combined with NLP and/or EFT, is an effective method for helping people realise that their symptoms can be relieved and that they can learn how to manage them.

Confidence & Self-Esteem Issues

Our confidence can be impacted by our self-beliefs which are stored within our subconscious mind and reacted to unconsciously (and which are also impacted by our self-esteem). A common assumption is that self-esteem and self-confidence are the same thing. However, although they are related, they are not the same. On the surface, a person can be outwardly confident, but within, they can struggle to find a sense of worth in the world (and vice versa). With low confidence or self-esteem, we struggle to find the strength to do what it is that we want, such as be able to go to an event with lots of people, drive a car, undertake public speaking, sit exams, and many other things unique to each of us.

Using a combination of techniques to discover the root causes of such issues, we will work towards renewing and improving your thoughts and feelings to manage negative thinking and boost your confidence and self-esteem for lasting positive change.

Fears & Phobias

Fear is a natural response caused by perceived danger, while a phobia is an irrational fear of something that stems from our subconscious mind (an acute fear). Hypnotherapy, NLP and EFT can all assist in reducing your fear of something, but phobias may require some uncovering techniques to establish the event when it started. This insight will provide clarity and help identify ways in which the phobia can be managed.​ Don’t let fears or phobias hold you back!

Children & Young People

Children and young people (and their parents/guardians) often need a little support to manage the challenges that come with growing up in an ever-changing world, particularly (as sometimes is the case) when more traditional therapies have not been successful.

Children have an easier time learning hypnosis compared to adults because, as they grow naturally, they engage in activities like imagining, daydreaming, fantasising, and pretending throughout the day. Children are often captivated by TV, stories, and computer games, as you might have already observed.

I can support children and young people with a range of issues, including:

  • Bad habits, such as thumb sucking, nail biting or hair pulling

Relaxation & Wellbeing

Everyday life is often impacted by demands from work, family, friends, and even ourselves. This affects our stress levels even when we are not aware of it, so much so that it has become a ‘normal’ state that is hard to recognise. Prolonged stress or tension can have a negative impact on our overall health. Relaxation is important in maintaining a healthy body and mind, and often we are advised to use techniques such as ‘mindfulness’. However, sometimes we are not sure how to go about this. Through hypnotherapy, it is possible to renew and rejuvenate ourselves by letting go of tensions, stress and anxiety, so that our body and mind are in a state of complete relaxation – a time for you to just be and switch off for a while from the constant demands of everyday life.

Hypno-Gastric Band

Have you considered undergoing surgical gastric banding but are wary of the risks of surgery? The Hypno-Gastric Band procedure mimics the experience and effects of surgical banding without any of the surgery risks, so you can reduce your appetite, engage in healthy eating habits, and lose weight. Through hypnosis, the subconscious mind is informed that a gastric band has been fitted and that a very small pouch has been created, which signals to the brain that it is full after eating small amounts of food.

The Hypno-Gastric Band procedure involves six sessions spread over six weeks. See Rise Above Package.

As with surgical gastric bands, hypno-banding will only be effective if healthy eating recommendations are followed.

Occasionally, some people wish to have additional support after the programme for long-term weight management.

Sleep Issues & Insomnia

Sleep disturbances can be very disruptive and have a negative impact on our day; sadly, the number of people experiencing such issues is growing rapidly. There are many reasons why people do not get consistent quality sleep, and whilst making changes to our sleep environment is a positive step, it does not always result in better sleep.

By identifying your lifestyle habits and accessing your subconscious mind, we can positively change any negative thoughts or practices that underlie common sleep-related experiences, such as:

  • Difficulty falling asleep
  • Trouble staying asleep
  • Regular nightmares
  • Bedwetting

Past Life Regression

Past Life Regression is often used to help answer questions about oneself, our personality, and why we make the choices we do. Using gentle hypnotherapy, we can access the deeper parts of ourselves in the subconscious mind to help identify issues from a past life that need addressing because they are affecting this life. By shedding light on these issues, this process can give you the opportunity to reconcile with events that took place in your past life and achieve healing so that you can move forward.

Past Life Regression can be useful in helping you:

  • Reconnect with and explore your past life experiences
  • Understand why you feel a deep connection with certain places, time periods and/or objects
  • Identify physical ailments or conditions you have that may be due to a past life experience
  • Explain unresolved emotions that have carried through into this lifetime (e.g., fears or beliefs that you are unable to explain)

Reiki

Reiki can help to alleviate a wide variety of conditions by holistically healing the cause of the problem through working with what is known as ‘universal energy’. It is often called palm healing or hands-on healing. It can bring many benefits, such as deep relaxation, reduced stress and anxiety, increased energy levels, a feeling of inner calm, and a speeding up of the body’s own healing system. It is safe and natural, and people often comment on how relaxed and rejuvenated they feel afterwards.

Perimenopause & Menopause

Perimenopause and Menopause is a natural part of ageing for women that can be a very challenging time for many, with fluctuating hormones, much like puberty. It is a transitional phase that can last for several years, causing much distress. This phase presents with a large number of symptoms that can often feel overwhelming, especially when you might not be feeling yourself. Some of the common symptoms include hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, anxiety, low libido, brain fog, fatigue and sleep disturbances. Women are increasingly turning to alternative therapies to alleviate these symptoms. With hypnotherapy we can work together to provide you with the tools to manage your reaction to these symptoms, enabling you to take back control of your life.

Paranormal Experiences

Paranormal experiences are more common than one might think. Often, the term ‘Paranormal Experiences’ conjures up images of ghosts, witchcraft and non-human entities, but it can also include hearing voices, out-of-body experiences, believing that one has been ‘abducted’, and even having strong spiritual or superstitious beliefs. Many of these experiences can have a significant personal meaning for the person experiencing them (and also others), leaving them feeling confused and isolated for fear of being judged if they were to share their experiences with those close to them.

Hypnotherapy can unlock suppressed memories of paranormal experiences and help bring about greater clarity. Through a holistic and personalised approach, we can work together in a supportive environment without any judgement or preconceptions to enable you to process and accept such experiences so that you can move on and live a normal and happy life.

Hypno IBS

But fear not! Stress could be the underlying trigger. Hypnosis, a helpful tool in managing IBS aims to harmonise your brain and gut, gaining recognition in the fight against IBS. Even the experts at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommend it. By exploring your subconscious, hypnosis can reveal hidden stressors contributing to your digestive issues. While IBS may be a long-term issue, there are ways to ease the symptoms. Hypnotherapy, relaxation methods, dietary adjustments and even Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can work together to alleviate IBS discomfort.
